Excerpt:
"Learning: The Treasure Within: Report to UNESCO of the International Commission on Education for the Twenty-first Century" (Delors et al. 1996), is the second of such education reports to the world, the first one being "Learning to Be: The World of Education Today and Tomorrow" (Faure et al. 1972). While Edgar Faure, the Chairman of the Commission established in 1972, had been a former Prime Minister and Minister of Education of France, Jaques Delors was a former President of the European Commission (1985-1995) and former French Minister of Economy and Finance and inevitably brought this particular European and economic perspectives to the future planning of education in the age of Golobalization. Whether we like it or not, the Delors Report will yet remain an important educational policy document requiring critical discussion by educators in both the state and civil society sectors, in countries developed and developing all around the world. The Delors Report, whether we like it or not, remains an important educational policy document requiring critical discussion by educators in both the state and civil society sectors, in countries developed and developing around the world.
